Prototype for a new piece in the new C.S. Mott Children's Hospital and Von Voigtlander Women's Hospital in Ann Arbor.

The title Unlean against our hearts comes from the Kay Ryan poem Blandeur.

The Ghostly pieces got some nice press- shout out to design sponge, colossal, dvdp.


Had a kids workshop last week- this angry birds pop up card was designed by Owen. The bird flies when the card is open. so rad.

I'm now in the studio working on a bunch of commissions...a robotic hospital installation, a possible double rainbow for an accounting firm, some work for the Queen of Jordan...it's about to be real crazy in the studio.

i need sleep

I just got back from 3 weeks in China! Anne Mondro and I studied traditional kite making with a master kite maker...see our exploits here.



Working on a new project for Ghostly Int. which should drop in about a month. I'm packaging them this week! Limited edition of 50. Get ready.


Crafting robot posters that can be colored in, popped out and assembled for the robot store at 826 Michigan.

I'm working on large commissions for a hospital, an accounting firm, the Queen of Jordan and a few other people...

Thought I would share some student work from this past semester.
My advanced paper classes at U of M School of Art and Design had students from freshmen through grad students in architecture and dance. We made cards, pop up books, egg packaging, wearables... As you can see I was blown away. Pics of Festifools parade by the talented Melissa Squires.

Hooray for Interns!!!

The fabulous Lauren and Rachel have been helping out in the studio this week and making my life a joy.
I'm working on two top secret projects: one involves paper and light, the other paper and...um... apple things....
Lauren and Rachel are helping assemble the new Ghostly series- due out in late spring/ early summer. This summer is going to be CRAZY! Just secured funding for a trip to China in June- me and Anne Mondro are going to work with a kite master. wooooo!
